    Description

Rare and very attractive, ca1960's Native American Plains Indian (believed to be Sioux) Bead Decorated Hide Quiver, hand carved Bow and Arrows with hand carved bone points.
This outstanding, sinew sewn, 20th century Sioux Quiver measures approx. 23" long and has a long, hand cut rawhide fringe that varies in length from 10” to 12”. One side of the Quiver features a 3” wide, loom beaded strip with traditional, geometric designs executed using white, red, pumpkin, yellow, black, dark blue and light blue colored seed beads.
The hand carved wood Bow measures approx. 55” long and features a brain tanned hide grip at the center decorated with two brass tacks. There is a sinew drop affixed to one of the notches of the Bow with bead decoration and a long thin lock of horse tail hair.
Included are three hand carved Arrows each measuring 26” long including their matching, hand carved bone points. Each Arrow has a v-shaped notch (known as nocks) at the back end that would fit over the string of the Bow and each retains the original feathers at the fletching. The feathers are affixed to the shaft with the original, sinew wrap. The Arrowheads each measure approx. 3” long and are affixed to the shaft with the original, sinew wraps.
The Quiver, Bow and Arrows offered here are unconditionally guaranteed original and of the period. All three were crafted in the 3rd quarter of the 20th century and appear to have been made to go together either as a display piece or for ceremonial use. The Quiver, Bow and Arrows come with our “no questions asked” return privilege and our lifetime guarantee of authenticity. They are guaranteed to be deemed authentic, original and as described by any qualified third party authentication service.
This rare and very attractive, ca1960's Plains Indian Bead Decorated Quiver, Bow and Arrows are all in very good condition. The hide elements of the Quiver are soft and supple and the loom beaded strip is ell preserved with some minor loss at one end. The Quiver retains what appears to be its original hide shoulder strap. The Bow is very well preserved – lacking its sinew bow string but otherwise intact and very attractive. All three of the Arrows are also well preserved with some wear to the feathers. All three points are affixed to the shafts by the original sinew wraps but two of the points are somewhat loose. Please see the numerous scans below for a good representation of the form and condition of this wonderful hand crafted, Plains Quiver, Bow and Arrows.

    Important Notes about Shipping Charges:
The amount quoted for Shipping & Handling is calculated by eBay and is equal to the EXACT amount charged by the Post Office plus a .00 "packing fee" - the .00 fee is our only compensation for the virgin packing materials we use on all of our professionally packaged boxes as well as our cost for the salaried help that does most of our packing - as I am sure you can see, we make NO profit on the Shipping charges and, in fact, our costs are usually greater than the .00 fee. Please contact us if there are any issues regarding the cost of shipping.
