Antique Penobscot Ceremonial War Club with Turtle or Snake Paint Decoration

The Penobscot are North America Indigenous people from the Northeastern Woodlands region.  This early 20th Century Penobscot Club is about 24” long with a 6” burl root ball. Made out of Birch; some of the bark was left on the handle. The old paint decoration focuses on the roots extending from the burl and accentuates the Turtle or Snake forms. The club is sturdy and solid with small marks, scuffs, and stains. Please look at the photographs as they are considered part of the description.
